Join us as am Account Director – Central Government
The Account Director – Central Government will be responsible for supporting Three Ireland's growth strategy across one of the country's most strategically important market sectors. The role is accountable for driving significant revenue growth by expanding Three's presence across Government Departments, Offices, State Agencies and associated public sector organisations through the sale of market-leading mobile, connectivity, security and ICT solutions.
Beyond managing existing relationships, this role is focused on creating new opportunities, influencing customer strategies and proactively displacing incumbent providers. Success will come from developing executive-level relationships, understanding customers' long-term business and digital transformation objectives, and positioning Three as a trusted strategic partner capable of delivering innovative, secure and commercially compelling solutions.
The successful candidate will continuously identify opportunities to influence customer requirements before formal procurement begins, creating a platform for sustainable advantage and increasing Three's share of wallet across the Central Government sector.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring commercial excellence, strategic thinking and a relentless focus on winning new business while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
What else it involves
- Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the Central Government sector aligned to Three Ireland's Public Sector ambitions.
- Deliver and exceed revenue, profitability, retention and new business targets across a portfolio of strategic Government customers.
- Proactively identify, create and develop opportunities to win new business and displace incumbent suppliers across mobile, connectivity and ICT services.
- Build and maintain trusted executive relationships across Government Departments, State Agencies, procurement bodies and key influencers.
- Engage customers early in their strategic planning and digital transformation initiatives, influencing requirements and shaping future opportunities before procurement commences.
- Develop comprehensive account plans that identify growth opportunities, threats, stakeholder maps and long-term engagement strategies.
- Position Three as the preferred strategic technology partner through thought leadership, innovation and a deep understanding of customer priorities.
- Manage complex commercial engagements, negotiations and bid strategies through to successful contract award.
- Identify risks and proactively implement retention and growth strategies to protect and expand Three's market position.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Solutions, Pre-Sales, Delivery and Executive leadership to build compelling customer propositions.
- Build and support virtual account teams that consistently deliver exceptional customer experience and commercial outcomes.
- Take ownership of complex customer issues, demonstrating leadership, urgency and accountability to deliver successful resolutions.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Government policy, procurement frameworks, emerging technologies and market trends that present opportunities for Three.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring customer feedback influences product development, service improvement and future strategy.
Skills and experience we're looking for
- Proven success in senior Enterprise or Public Sector sales, with extensive experience selling complex Mobile, Connectivity, Managed Services and ICT solutions.
- Demonstrable track record of consistently exceeding revenue and growth targets within Government or similarly complex enterprise environments.
- Experience developing executive relationships and influencing senior stakeholders across large organisations.
- Strong strategic account planning and business development capability, with the ability to identify opportunities well in advance of procurement activity.
- Proven experience successfully displacing incumbent suppliers through consultative selling, value creation and strategy.
- Excellent commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with experience managing complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of Government procurement processes, public sector frameworks and enterprise sales methodologies.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct line management responsibility.
- Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills with confidence engaging at Executive, CIO, Commercial and Ministerial stakeholder level.
- Commercially focused, self-motivated and resilient, with a passion for winning and delivering measurable customer outcomes.
- Strong planning, reporting and CRM discipline.
- Full clean driving licence.
