POSITION SUMMARY
The Western Division Sales Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions to meet those needs. This person will also be responsible for selling liners and finished goods. The role includes managing projects, merchandising team activities, and supporting merchandising and sales execution within their territory.
This position is expected to regularly travel throughout the assigned territory to visit stores, assess merchandising execution, support store teams, and strengthen customer relationships.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong customer focus, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, fostering long-term relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
Manage communications and relations with assigned Division of Home Depot corporate buyers and assistants, as well as field level RVPs, DMs and SMs.
Regularly travel to stores within the assigned territory to evaluate merchandising execution, build relationships with store leadership, and ensure program standards are being met.
Manage merchandising service teams and inspect that proper execution of projects is happening.
Work with assigned growers on liner sales of the LeafJoy program in their respective stores. This would include finished sales to growers in these areas.
Execute strategic company projects within assigned territories.
Meet or exceed targets within the assigned bonus plan.
Understand client needs and objectives and develop customized solutions to meet those needs.
Collaborate with all internal teams to ensure client needs are met and issues are resolved.
Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products to existing clients.
Develop plans and strategies to achieve sales targets and grow revenue.
Monitor and analyze sales metrics and trends to provide regular reports to management.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market developments.
Conduct regular check-in calls or meetings with clients to review their account status, address concerns, and gather feedback.
Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of projects or campaigns.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the client’s business, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
Identify opportunities for process improvement or efficiency gains within the department.
Participate in industry events, conferences, or trade shows to network with potential clients and stay abreast of industry developments.
Track progress toward quarterly and annual targets, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed goals.
Mentor and coach members of the team, providing guidance and support to help them succeed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Proven experience in account management, sales, or customer service.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Must live in the Western Division Home Depot market area.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to visit stores and customer locations.
Experience collaborating with inventory planning or replenishment functions preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Five years of corporate account management sales experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel frequently and spend significant time driving within the assigned territory.
Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions, including humidity and outdoor temperatures, and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the greenhouse.
