Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Setting: 100% onsite

Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt/Non-Management

Summary:

The Housing Supportive Services Program (HSSP) is a specialized program that provides comprehensive and intensive field-based community mental health services designed to meet the unique needs of individuals in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) who are formerly homeless and have a Severe Mental Illness (SMI) or Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). The Clinician HSSP ODR (Office of Diversion and Reentry) will provide services in HSSP ODR Project-Based Buildings including clinical services provided to justice-involved population. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Clinician will conduct psychotherapy with adult members that have severe and persistent mental illness in the office, in member’s homes, or the field. The Clinician’s primary responsibilities are to engage members and to coordinate mental health and recovery services that will ensure housing stability and com-munity integration. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest quality provision of direct individual and group therapeutic services and case management services, while fostering teamwork among staff and across departments and programs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide, coordinate, and implement mental health and recovery support services with individual members.
  • Conduct individual, family and group psychotherapy.
  • Develop effective, trusting relationships with members, with a focus on facilitating independence and maintenance of improved physical and mental health.
  • Collaborate with each member to develop their individual service plan; review and update it upon completion of goals.
  • Assist management and other Clinicians with program evaluation and modification for future program improvements and growth.
  • Assist members with becoming involved in daily activities, socialization, health maintenance, sense of community, and progress in recovery reflective of The People Concern’s model which emphasizes customer choice, harm reduction, and psycho-social rehabilitation.
  • Work cooperatively and cohesively with other members of the HSSP team, including participation in weekly staff meetings, group clinical supervision, and trainings.
  • Develop and maintain a complete, accurate, and current member file with all funder-required documents.
  • Assist in crisis interventions as needed, including participating in on call rotation calendar for overnight and weekend After Hours Emergency Line.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field of study from an accredited university.
  • Valid registration or licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Current, valid California Driver’s with an acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle
  • Able to transport members in your vehicle
  • Outstanding clinical and strong team-building skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills

 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with unhoused population, experience responding to/assessing for crisis
  • DMH experience
  • Bilingual Spanish

 

Work Environment:

  • Combination of field and office environment
  • On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 35lbs
  • Will necessitate working in busy and at times loud environments
  • Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
