The Lower School Teaching Assistant provides instructional support to students in all grade levels, Kindergarten through Grade 5.
Responsibilities
- Model and teach habits that help students grow in wisdom, compassion, and Christ-like maturity
- Support teachers in maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment that fosters a lifelong love of learning
- Provide oversight of students during personalized learning blocks, ensuring a focused and productive environment
- Facilitate extension activities for students during personalized learning blocks, enriching and deepening their engagement with the curriculum
- Help students thrive as they develop strong relationships with God, others, ideas, and the world
- Know and love each student to promote their continued growth and development
- Monitor lunch and recess, supporting student safety and healthy interpersonal relationships
- Assist with arrival and dismissal, ensuring smooth and safe transitions for students and families
- Participate in meaningful, ongoing professional learning during regularly scheduled after school meetings and professional development days

Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred; teaching and classroom experience; committed Christian who actively supports and embraces the Christ-centered mission, values, and culture of The Oaks Academy
