Salary Range Starting at: $11.00/per hour
Job Objective:
As the Maintenance worker you will be responsible for the maintenance of the facility and transportation of goods ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee volunteer workers who provide general custodial duties
- Assure the facility is cleaned and maintained appropriately including cleaning fixtures, mopping, trash removal, sweeping floors, cleaning, dusting, and polishing furniture and building fixtures, vacuuming and restroom sanitizing
- Prepare rooms for activities, ensuring that there is requestion equipment available
- Monitor equipment and perform routine upkeep and minor repairs as required to maintain the safety of the environment
- Pickup food donation and deliver food/equipment as needed
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education: Hight School Diploma or GED is preferred
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: Some experience in building maintenance or custodial services preferred
Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems
- Positive attitude and the ability to be flexible considering changing job situations/priorities

Physical Requirements Include:
- Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
- Lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 50 pounds
- May require bending, squatting, walking
- May require standing for extended periods
Travel: Primarily local travel only with occasional trips to camp when needed to help with transportation
Working Conditions: Work is performed in aa office and church environment; may require some weekend and evening work
