Part- Time 19 Hours Per Week, Pay Rate: $13.50 Per Hour

Summary/Primary Purpose: Responsible for submitting bills to Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) and preparing bank deposits. Also assist with Food Pantry needs and clients when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open incoming mail (always with another staff present) and distribute to the appropriate staff.
  • Forward receipts (for payment/reimbursement) to Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) for payment and processing.
  • Fill out bank deposits with complete accuracy.
  • Copy donor checks and submit to DHQ as required.
  • Type thank you letters to donors and mail out in a timely manner.
  • Keep good and concise records of all booking, receipting and other donations.
  • Assist with answering incoming telephone calls.
  • Assist with methodical and consistent handling of client records, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Assist with food pantry needs and clients as needed.
  • Enter daily kettle amounts into “Register to Ring”-Seasonal
  • Driving is an essential function of this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three months experience in the related field.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Intermediate computer skills to include utilizing various office equipment, with ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong independent judgement.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 30 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Physical requirements include good speaking, hearing and vision ability and excellent manual dexterity. Ability to stand, bend and reach for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate cleaning equipment. This position will require the ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds occasionally.
