This position is responsible for

Leads children and adult activities for camp programs, including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, Bible study, computer programs and specialized programs; maintains the cleanliness of the recreational and outdoor activities areas.

Key Responsibilities

Provides constant care for the needs of the children and adults in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure and healthy manner.
Provides positive, relaxed atmosphere during educational and outdoor activities, and promotes encouraging conversation.
Ensures the accountability, security and safety of guests participating in outdoor activities; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUEducation and Experience:

High school diploma or G.E.D. required,

AND

One to two years’ experience teaching child development programs,

OR

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

AND

Ability to pass all state licensing background checks.

Licenses and Certifications

CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)
Lifeguard Certification (preferred)
Ropes Course Certification (preferred)
