Role Purpose

The Quality Technician is responsible for executing inspection, measurement, and verification activities to ensure silicon and germanium machined parts conform to customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role supports the effective operation of the Quality Management System and compliance with applicable ISO standards and ITAR regulations.

Scope & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
 • Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and control plans
 • Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined silicon and germanium components
 • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
 • Utilize precision measurement and inspection equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, CMMs, surface finish measurement tools)
 • Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records in accordance with document control and record retention requirements
 • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material in accordance with established procedures
 • Initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and communicate quality issues to appropriate personnel
 • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities as required
 • Verify calibration status of inspection and measurement equipment prior to use
 • Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits
 • Adhere to all quality, safety, information security, and ITAR compliance requirements

• Actively participate in and maintain 5S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) on the production floor to ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment that supports efficient daily operations.

  • Other duties as required.

Work Experience & Skills

Education:
 High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred

Experience:
 Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role; experience with precision machining and/or semiconductor-related materials (silicon/germanium) preferred

Skills / Knowledge:
 • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
 • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
 • Familiarity with ITAR requirements and handling of export-controlled data and products
 • Experience using precision measurement and inspection equipment
 • Basic computer skills (ERP/MRP systems, inspection software, Microsoft Office)

 • Ability to handle small, delicate, and precision components
 • Visual acuity sufficient for detailed inspection, with or without corrective lenses
