Job Title: Machine Operator

Role Purpose

Machine Operators are responsible for handling thin sheets of metal throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures proper machine setup, operation, and inspection to meet quality and production standards while adhering to safety and operational procedures.


Scope & Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities:

Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions

Train and become proficient in machine startup and shutdown procedures

Set up and operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with specifications

Develop a basic understanding of manufacturing processes, measurement adjustments, and work order instructions

Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks at the operator level

Conduct pre-inspection of panels, identifying defects such as poor printing, rub-down issues, or resist failure

Accurately interpret and complete work order documentation and production records

Maintain a working knowledge of production processes and quality expectations

Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Support team operations and contribute to overall production goals

Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs


Work Experience & Skills

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred


Experience:

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required


Skills / Knowledge:

Basic computer skills, including experience with MRP systems

Strong attention to detail and quality standards

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment operation

Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines

Time management skills with the ability to meet production deadlines under pressure

Reliable and adaptable to changing production needs

Willingness to learn and develop technical skills


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements (if applicable)

Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment

Required use of appropriate PPE at all times

Extended periods of standing may be required

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Physical activities may include pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting

Requires sufficient mobility, coordination, and physical reflexes
