Tennis Shop Attendant
About this role
The Olympic Club is seeking a part-time Tennis Shop Attendant with outstanding guest service skills and a passion about all things tennis related. The position is the primary guest service representative in our Tennis Shop to warmly greet and assist members and guests with retail purchase.
Employees enjoy free meals, social and sporting events throughout the year and free golf on Mondays!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet members and guests in a courteous and friendly manner and provide exceptional 5-star guest service.
- Organize and facilitate tennis play for our members.
- Arrange matches, scheduling, organizing league play and helping facilitate mixers and tournaments.
- Operate a point-of-sale system to charge members merchandise and/or rental purchases.
- Communicate and respond by phone, email and in person regarding inquires, course conditions and special member events.
- Tidy, dust and maintain the overall appearance of the Tennis Shop.
- Assist with monthly inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Regular and reliable attendance required based on business expectations and needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a customer/guest service representative in a retail and/or hospitality environment.
- Must have excellent customer service skills including outstanding communication skills.
- A team player with a "can-do" positive attitude and ability to resolve concerns and issues as they arise.
- Have a professional work ethic, including being punctual, reliable, trustworthy, with desire and ability to provide high end customer service to members, guests and co-workers.
- Detail oriented and ability to follow direction and established procedures.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Computer literate with an Intermediate knowledge of Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Experience using a POS system.
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs., reach over shoulder/head and outward.
