The Olympic Club is hiring for an Part Time Tennis Professional. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City.

Position Overview:

Reporting to and working closely with the Head Tennis Professional. The Tennis Professional will teach, train and coach private, semi-private and group lessons as directed by the Director of Tennis and Head Tennis Professional.


Essential functions and responsibilities:

Job duties are including but not limited to:

  • Promotes all tennis and other club events.
  • Work with the Head Pro to implement and promote the tennis program.
  • Operate the POS, Tennis Court Reservations System, Payroll Platform.
  • Teach lessons and clinics plus occasionally play with members and their guests.
  • Attend weekly team meetings both internally (within the tennis department) and externally (whole club meetings).
  • Is recognized as an expert in all USTA tennis rules, levels of play, and ranking systems.
  • Help coordinate the USTA League team practices for all teams.
  • Fills in when full-time tennis pros are not available.
  • Regular attendance required based on business expectations and needs.


Adheres to all federal, state, local and San Francisco laws regarding health, safety, and employment practices.

 

Non-Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Willing and able to work occasional weekends, evenings and early mornings based on business needs.
  • This position requires regular, ongoing communication, coordination and collaboration with the Clubhouse management team and staff including status updates on assignments, projects, and progress towards established goals/objectives. 


Qualifications Required:

  • Division 1 playing experience and must be actively playing at a minimum 5.0 plus level.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be USPTA, PTR, ITF Certified, or working to achieve this within the first 6 months of hire.
  • Previous successful coaching experience with all levels and abilities of adult tennis players.
  • Must be able to teach multiple hours of lessons/clinics daily.
  • Must be a dynamic and present member of the club’s tennis staff.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English oral and written communication skills, including report writing and incident documentation.
