Mechanic (Golf Course Equipment)
About this role
The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a full-time Mechanic (Golf Course Equipment). The Mechanic will work in our Golf Maintenance Department, who maintain our world-renowned golf courses.
This is a Local 1877 union position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects or failures on various pieces of golf course equipment.
· Repair and adjust cutting units on light and heavy-duty mowers.
· Perform routine preventive maintenance.
· Ensure equipment is safe for daily use.
· Comply with OSHA safety standards and practices.
· Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
· Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
· Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager or other management of The Club.
Minimum qualifications:
· Prior mechanical experience preferred.
· 3-5 years mechanic experience on gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment, using standard mechanical repair tools
· Ability to lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to read and write in the English language.
· Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks without direct supervision.
· Ability to read and analyze schematics, service manuals and other documents.
· Must interact positively with coworkers, management and others on the Olympic Club team.
· Ability to critically think and make independent decisions based upon sound judgment.
· Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Must be committed to learning and the continual process of improvement.
· Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where excellent results are expected.
· Attention to detail, accuracy of the task completed, and timeliness are a must.
