Salesforce Architect
Summary
The Salesforce Architect is responsible for the overall architecture, design, governance, and technical direction of the Salesforce platform. This role partners with business stakeholders, project teams, developers, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise technology standards.
The Salesforce Architect serves as the technical authority for Salesforce-related initiatives, ensuring that application design, integrations, data management, security, and platform scalability support current and future business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
- Define and maintain Salesforce architecture standards and roadmaps.
- Design scalable Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, and related products.
- Translate business requirements into technical architecture and solution designs.
- Ensure platform capabilities are leveraged effectively before custom development is considered.
Integration & Data Management
- Design and govern integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications such as ERP, WMS, eCommerce, and middleware platforms.
- Define API architecture, authentication standards, data mappings, and integration patterns.
- Establish data ownership, data governance, and system-of-record principles.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and lifecycle management across interconnected systems.
Technical Leadership
- Provide architectural guidance to developers, administrators, and project teams.
- Review solution designs, code, configurations, and integrations for quality and compliance with standards.
- Lead architecture reviews and identify technical risks and mitigation strategies.
- Mentor Salesforce developers and administrators.
Governance & Security
- Establish platform governance practices, design standards, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and audit requirements.
- Define role-based access controls, sharing models, and data security frameworks.
- Support platform performance monitoring and optimization. Project Delivery
- Participate in project discovery, requirements analysis, and solution estimation.
- Evaluate new Salesforce capabilities and recommend adoption strategies.
- Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
- Support testing, deployment planning, and production readiness activities.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience working with Salesforce solutions.
- 3+ years of experience in a Salesforce Architect, Solution Architect, or Technical Architect role.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, configuration, and development.
- Experience designing integrations using APIs, middleware, and cloud-based integration platforms.
- Experience with enterprise application environments involving ERP, CRM, and digital platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or Certified Technical Architect (CTA) credentials.
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ and Experience Cloud.
- Experience with middleware platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar integration technologies.
