Job Description
- Able to read and perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Basic computer skills such as keyboarding required.
- Excellent customer service skills such as problem solving, timeliness, and follow-up required. 4. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of maintenance principles and practices and have the interpersonal and technical skills necessary to repair mechanical, electrical and instrumentation problems in a positive and professional manner.
- Must be able to react to machinery breakdowns and equipment problems in a proficient and positive manner.
- Position’s greatest challenge is to assist in improving overall efficiencies through effective mechanical, electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting and repair.
- Position holder must have the ability to effectively communicate with project engineers to ensure that all packaging projects meet packaging technical objectives.
- Position holder must possess a positive attitude and be self-motivated. He/she must be willing to work in all facets of the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation arena to upgrade his/her overall skill base.
- Lift 50 pounds.
- Constant bending and twisting; Able to reach above shoulders.
- Able to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch occasionally.
- Must have good verbal communication and basic mathematical skills.
- Self-motivated and strong drive for results.
- Able to become certified to operate a lift truck.
- Must possess appropriate tools and toolbox.
- Able to work in hot/humid conditions as well as areas that may contain dust/starch particles and egg.
- Able to pass their FIT test.
- The environment in which the job is performed, especially any unique conditions outside a normal office environment.
- Environment: indoors/outdoors, production floor: exposure to high noise levels and occasional wet flooring, temperature fluctuations, PIV traffic, moving equipment parts
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): safety glasses, slip resistant steel toe shoes, ear plugs, bump cap, hair net and beard net (when on plant floor)
