Position Purpose:

The Studio Camera Operator / Content Capture Specialist manages execution of all video capture and technical production within the in-store studio environment.

This role is responsible for filming product-focused short-form content, ensuring all footage meets technical and creative standards, and managing media from capture through delivery to post-production. The role partners closely with the Producer / On-Camera Presenter, store associates, and editing teams to ensure content is captured, organized, and delivered on time and to spec.

This role requires a highly detail-oriented, technically skilled associate who takes ownership of execution, troubleshoots in real time, and operates efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.


Key Responsibilities:

60% Video Capture & Technical Execution

  • Operates cinema cameras and mobile devices (including iPhone) to capture high-quality video content
  • Ensures proper camera settings including frame rates, resolution, white balance, exposure, and audio capture
  • Frames shots intentionally to support storytelling and allow space for graphics, text, and platform needs
  • Captures both horizontal and vertical formats to support omni-channel and social-first content
  • Sets up and maintains camera, lighting, and basic audio equipment
  • Troubleshoots technical issues quickly to minimize disruption during shoots
  • Ensures all footage meets defined technical and creative standards
  • Maintains equipment readiness and monitors performance during production

25% Media Management & Asset Delivery

  • Manages all captured footage including labeling, organizing, and version control
  • Ensures files are properly formatted and aligned to post-production specifications
  • Delivers and transfers media to Store Support Center teams in a timely manner
  • Maintains backups and ensures integrity of all recorded assets
  • Supports editor needs by ensuring clean, usable, and properly structured footage

10% Production Support & Coordination

  • Partners with Producer / On-Camera Presenter to execute shoots efficiently
  • Aligns to shot lists, framing needs, and creative direction
  • Supports coordination with store associates and on-site stakeholders during filming
  • Helps maintain production flow to meet timelines and deliverables
  • Maintains strong working relationships with store associates

5% Workflow Optimization

  • Supports development of standardized capture workflows and technical guidelines
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and speed
  • Contributes to documenting best practices for scalable in-store production

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating cinema cameras and video production equipment

  • Proficiency capturing content on mobile devices (iPhone) for social-first formats

  • Strong understanding of video specs (frame rates, resolution, codecs, lighting, audio basics)

  • Experience with media management and file organization best practices

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues in real time

  • Strong attention to detail and execution

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience in retail, content production, or studio environments preferred

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
