The Food Service Associate role in Lamy's Diner supports daily food service operations by providing efficient, friendly, and accurate service to guests. This position delivers an outstanding guest experience through knowledgeable menu communication, effective sales techniques, and professional interaction with guests and team members. Serving as an ambassador for The Henry Ford brand, the Food Service Associate upholds the highest standards of customer service, food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

 

Essential Responsibilities

• Serves food in a variety of daily food services operations
• Performs opening and closing tasks as assigned
• Handles cash accurately and efficiently
• Possesses knowledge of menu description and can effectively communicate them with guests
• Ensures an outstanding guest experience interact and communicate with guests and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner
• Possesses knowledge of sales techniques
• Assumes responsibility for cleanliness of assigned areas in keeping with the Health & Sanitation guidelines
• Handles and stores all equipment properly and with care
• Performs other activities as necessary
• Acts as a team player, providing expertise within the team and with other team members as appropriate
• Adheres to The Henry Ford and the Food service department rules and policies at all times
• Period-appropriate attire is mandatory for Food Services Associates dependent on location assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Weekday, weekend, evening and holiday availability
• Requires some high school or equivalent experience
• Must be customer service focused with a hospitable demeanor

• Should be enthusiastic and possess good communication and oral skills
• Self-starter with knowledge of suggestive selling techniques
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
