POSITION SUMMARY 

This position is the equivalent of a “Tradesperson” and performs job responsibilities as designated by the department supervisor. Maintenance Supervisor will determine the employee’s appropriate job level & position based on the job description competencies.  The Maintenance Technician II (Electrical) position meets all the requirements of the Maintenance Technician I (Electrical) criteria.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Under general supervision, the employee will perform an advanced level of assignments for electrical/mechanical repairs, installation of upgrades/modifications, and preventative maintenance activities.  Employee should understand and be able to perform the following:

 

•          Electrical Schematics/Electro-Mechanical – Ability to interpret and conduct fault-finding activities by use of this document type.  All predominant OEM types.

 

•          Programmable Logic Control/PLC – Demonstrates the ability to interpret (use of schematics) and utilize I/O designations for the purpose of fault-finding. Can (with assistance) upload and create archives of program software. All predominant OEM types.

 

•          Variable Frequency Drive/VFD – Demonstrates understanding of functional theory, perform fault-finding tasks to determine root cause (within the circuit whole), and facilitate component replacement.  Can (with assistance) upload and create archives of program software.  All OEM types.

 

•          Computer Numeric Control/CNC – Can navigate widely utilized control types (e.g., Fanuc & Siemens) for use of the maintenance associated partitions (e.g., servo motor current, I/O data address status, axis position) for the purpose of fault-finding and conducting select P.M. types.

 

•          Heidenhain Test Equipment – Ability to utilize equipment to the full design capacities (PWM 9, 21, or latest edition) as apply to integrated applications, and interpret test results (with assistance) for the purpose of fault-finding and root cause assessment.

 

•          Equipment Calibration – Can perform calibration of equipment with 2 axis interpolation.

 

•          Hydraulic & Pneumatic power systems – Possesses advanced knowledge of schematic interpretation, and system integration for the purpose of fault-finding, facilitation of repair and performance of P.M. events.  All predominant OEM types.

 

•          Mechanical Assemblies – Demonstrates advanced knowledge of design, and integration of systems for the purpose of fault-finding, facilitation of repair and performance of P.M events e.g., bearings, ball screws, fluid pumps, and clutch systems

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:       Certificate or degree in the discipline of Electro-Mechanical Technologies.

 Experience:    2 – 5 years

 

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills helpful in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook.  Understanding of SAP helpful.
