About this role

Generation Fertility Waterloo is a patient-focused clinic and nursing is a key role in our multidisciplinary team. We are seeking a motivated nurse to join our expanding fertility practice to work in our clinical rotation as well as during oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers.

The nurse participates as an important member on a multidisciplinary team and collaborates with other professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient focused care. The nursing role involves performing routine examinations and fertility procedures; communicating results, treatment plans, and protocols with patients, reviewing cycle information and providing patient education, preparing patients for procedures and performing post procedure care; and assisting physicians during procedures.

The position will be full time. Standard clinic hours are 7am-4pm Monday to Friday and 7:30am-12pm on weekends.

Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN, in Good Standing)
Minimum of 1 year experience as an R.P.N.
Current BLS (or willing to obtain)
Willing to commit to a full-time schedule including weekends and on-call dates

The following knowledge is special to this position:

Nursing practices according to standards of College of Nurses of Ontario
Knowledge of policies, procedures and standards of care for Assisted Human Reproduction
Previous experience in reproductive medicine and/or gynecology an asset.

Proficient IV and venipuncture skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
Ability and desire to continually upgrade knowledge and review advancements

Commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service
*Knowledge of computer software applications, such as MS Word, Excel and electronic medical records

This is a 18-month contract position, but there is possibly for renewal at the end of the contract term.
