As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator for our AMS Operations business unit based in Torrance, CA where we manufacture a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, and electronic assemblies.
The Project Coordinator is a hands-on role for a candidate who looks forward to managing multiple aerospace/defense projects in a fast-paced environment. It is a perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of product types, coordinating with multiple departments, solving problems, and taking ownership of projects.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Correspond with suppliers and negotiate component pricing in support of project proposals.
· Plan and manage procurement and supplier selection in coordination with Production and Engineering.
· Draft purchase orders in support of procurement plans.
· Follow up with suppliers and ensure on-time delivery.
· Maintain and update project schedules and status.
· Communicate with key customers, suppliers, and service providers to ensure project milestones are met.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams in Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum Requirements
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Experience using MS Project, Smartsheet, or comparable project management software preferred.
· Strong organizational, interpersonal communication and management skills.
· Ability to manage own workload: plan, track, and communicate progress proactively.
· Flexible and adaptable to change, creative problem solver.
· Limited travel required in support of supplier and customer visits.
WORK EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
· Minimum bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in project coordination.
· Experience working in the Aerospace / Defense industry is preferred.
· Technical background and/or experience is preferred.
· Experience using an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar is preferred.
· US Citizenship required.
