Credit Analyst III

 

Summary: Prepares written in-depth credit analysis for Commercial and Industrial and Commercial Real Estate loans by underwriting the basics of commercial credit worthiness and identifying and analyzing sources of payment. 


Job Functions:

  • Interprets financial data, financial condition and level of risk related to various types of borrowing entities and individuals including financial statement analysis, collateral evaluations, trend analysis ratio and industry analysis.
  • Creates cash flow schedules based on personal and business tax returns and/or financial statements.
  • Reviews and spreads financial statements and prepares comprehensive financial analysis on the creditworthiness of the borrower.
  • Creates Pro-Forma analysis to assess the company’s/individual’s ability to repay current and proposal debt obligations based on the perceived level of risk determined in the analysis.
  • Makes recommendations on approval or declination of loan requests.
  • Review appraisals and environmental reports.
  • Support the loan approval process through credit authorization preparation and distribution. Provide documentation of committee approvals and requirements.
  • Operate in a more senior position to provide assistance and act as a resource to the other analysts.
  • Work on FIMAC analytic or other Stress testing software and reports as required
  • Assist in the creation and completion of minutes to the various loan approval committees
  • May perform other tasks and assist in projects as needed.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Formal Bank Commercial Credit training or equivalent classes offered by third party providers (RMA, ABA, banking assns, etc.).
  • 5-8 years banking/credit experience with 3+ years credit analysis experience in commercial banking. Lending background preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of computer systems including word processing, databases, and Excel.
  • Experience with credit analysis software. 
  • Knowledgeable in financial institution operating policies and procedures and banking regulations state and federal.



Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skill in analysis of business and individual financial statements, tax returns, and cash flows.
  • Understanding of commercial real estate project analysis, real estate appraisal reviews and property environmental evaluation reviews.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable Bank products and services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and good process-facilitating.
  • Detail oriented, good organizational, interpersonal, communications and writing skills.
