Guest Experience & Protocol Host - World Expo 2027, Belgrade (US National Only)
About this role
The Guest Experience & Protocol Host is the first face guests meet at the USA Pavilion's F&B and hospitality spaces, setting the tone with a warm, professional American welcome. The post holder manages greeting, seating and flow for the public and, during VIP events, receives and directs delegations and dignitaries with protocol awareness. Note: this front-door / protocol function is currently folded into the front-of-house allocation in the feasibility manning model, see the accompanying summary for the headcount decision.
Key ResponsibilitiesWelcome and flow- Greet and welcome every guest warmly; manage waiting, seating and guest flow, especially during Expo peak periods.
- Manage queues and crowd flow calmly and safely at a high-footfall pavilion.
- Answer guest questions about the pavilion, offer and experience; represent the brand with pride.
- Receive and direct VIP guests, delegations and officials during protocol events, following the agreed order and etiquette.
- Coordinate with management, security and protocol partners on VIP arrivals and access.
- Maintain discretion and composure with high-profile guests.
- Support reservations, event check-in and guest-list management where required.
- Assist the FOH team and hand over smoothly to servers.
- Deliver warm, polished American hospitality to every guest, from the general public to accredited VIPs and official delegations, as a frontline representative of the USA Pavilion.
- Follow VIP and protocol service instructions precisely during delegations, receptions and national-day events, including dress code, sequence of service and discretion around guests.
- Maintain composure, pace and presentation through high-volume Expo trading and extended hours.
- Never discuss or share information about VIP guests, their movements or pavilion events.
- Warm, confident, front-facing personality and excellent communication.
- Experience hosting, greeting or in guest-relations / reception roles.
- Calm crowd- and queue-management under high footfall.
- Discretion and poise for VIP reception.
- Strong English; additional languages a strong advantage.
- United States citizenship (mandatory for this role).
- Hospitality, guest-relations or customer-service experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a host, reception or guest-facing role preferred.
- Events or VIP experience an advantage.
