Overnight Pit Cook
About this role
• Proficiently manage and operate BBQ pits, and smokers during overnight shifts, ensuring that the meats are smoked, cooked, and prepared according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain precise temperature and smoke levels within the pit or smoker, adjusting settings as necessary during the night to achieve optimal flavor, texture, and consistency of BBQ meats.
• Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring safe handling, storage, and preparation of meats during overnight shifts, and maintain a clean and organized work area to uphold health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with other team members and the management team to coordinate the timing and readiness of BBQ meats for the following day's service, ensuring a seamless transition between night and day shifts and contributing to a smooth workflow.
• Monitor and maintain the quality of BBQ meats prepared during the night, conducting regular checks to ensure that they meet the restaurant's standards, and assist in managing inventory levels to prepare for the day ahead.
• Ability to complete tasks asked for by the management team.
