Plant Design Integration Products Lead Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with a geographically diverse team and partner organizations to develop integrated nuclear island and plant-level design deliverables with elevated focus on plant architecture, technical leadership, and cross-discipline alignment.
  • Leads development, explanation, and communication of plant architecture including system interactions, functional allocations, interfaces, anddesign/analysis assumptions.
  • Leads plant level efforts to resolve broad, highly complex technical issues that affect multiple aspects of the Natrium design.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in one or more areas of plant level design or architecture
  • Interprets, explains, and maintains plant-level design documents including design basis documents, functional requirements, and plant design specifications.
  • Ensures alignment of plant architecture and design documentation with the Licensing Modernization Process (LMP) including risk-informed categorization and defense-in-depth evaluations.
  • Develops plant-level integration deliverables such as plans, strategies, design basis documents, and plant design specifications in collaboration with engineering, licensing, safety analysis, and PRA teams.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to the Plant Design Products team and supports development of integration engineering capabilities.
  • Facilitates technical integration reviews, configuration discussions, and architecture strategy sessions across multiple disciplines.

Key Qualifications and Skills 

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in nuclear facility design or operations in engineering fields such as plant or systems engineering, design engineering, operations engineering, reactor engineering, or field engineering.
  • BS degree in nuclear, mechanical, chemical, electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional plant design integration.
  • Working understanding of NRC or DOE Nuclear regulations; prior NRC interaction desirable.
  • Experience with Licensing Modernization Process (LMP) or similar risk-informed licensing approaches is desirable
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex plant architecture and design concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
  • Ability to work in a FOAK conceptual design environment requiring strong engineering judgment.

This position is subject to qualification requirements in accordance with ANSI/ANS 3.1. Candidates must meet the minimum education and experience criteria applicable to the role, including relevant nuclear industry experience where required. Verification of data will be part of the hiring process.

Job details

Salary Range: $168,316 - $252,475

Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
