Your missions :

As Senior sugar analyst, you will be in charge of delivering the groups’ fundamental view on the EU sugar market and contribute to the world sugar research. You will report to the Head of World Sugar Research and work closely with the sugar research, sales, marketing, trading, margin and agricultural teams of Tereos sharing insights and building the intelligence required for decision making.

Missions : 

- Building Tereos’ fundamental view on the EU sugar market: Maintain accurate data at competing producers and country level in order to build an accurate Supply & Demand balance.
- Monitor Production Drivers: Track news and factors affecting European Producers’ sugar output (growers and producer decisions, crop competitiveness, weather, policy).
- Forecast Consumption: Analyse and anticipate sugar consumption per country, collaborating with the marketing team to spot trends.
- Anticipate EU commercial flows: analyse EU import structure and anticipate sugar availability at origin countries as well as EU exports. Calculate import and export parities.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis: provide management with insight on a variety of topics such as cost of production processing capacity, and impact of public policies.
- Communicate Insights: Contribute to the weekly and monthly updates from the EU sugar analysis team on supply, demand and market dynamics.
- Contribute to the building of the world sugar balance: support the Head of World Sugar Research in research and analysis of supply and demand, as well as world tradeflows for a variety of countries.

Your profile :

University degree in Economics, Finance, Agronomy.
Minimum 5 yr. experience in commodity research and/or trading necessary. Experience in the sugar market is highly desirable.
Fluent English compulsory. French fluency is preferred.
Top Excel and Power Tools of Microsoft (Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, etc). Proficiency with Python is desirable.

Understanding of micro economics and commodity supply and demand fundamentals.
Familiarity with principles of yield forecasting and weather data interpretation.
Ability to deal with high volume of data and complex analysis for extracting relevant insights.
Problems solving skills, strong autonomy and creativity to address daily analytics issues.
Strong communication ability to be well understood by all different type of internal audience
