About this role

How You’ll Shape Our Success

No two days look the same at EMS. As a Field Service Technician, you'll be out in the field every day — visiting hospitals and healthcare facilities, performing medical gas compliance and environmental testing, and building real relationships with customers who count on you. If you like hands-on work, solving problems, and staying on the move, this is the job for you.

Your Day-to-Day Environment

  • Travel daily to customer sites in your assigned territory, driving about 30–300 miles per day
  • Work independently out of your own company-provided service vehicle
  • Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50–100 lbs while standing and walking for most of the day
  • Some overnight travel required
  • Work may include early mornings, or later evenings based on hospital scheduling needs

What You'll Take Ownership Of

  • Perform airflow and environmental testing in hospital and healthcare environments
  • Support air balancing and ventilation verification across multiple hospital facilities
  • Work in active healthcare settings, including mechanical and hard-to-reach areas
  • Conduct testing during off-hours when required to support hospital operations
  • Travel to healthcare facilities across the Chicago and Indianapolis region
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare and safety standards
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to hospital staff and internal teams

Perks, Pay, and Benefits

  • Earn $21.00 – $28.00 an hour, based on your experience and skills
  • Jumpstart your career with training and ongoing development opportunities
  • Enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Grow your future with a 401(k) and company match
  • Feel supported with life insurance plus short and long‑term disability
  • Generous PTO and 10 company‑paid holidays

Your Journey with Us

  • Recruiter Screen
  • Interview with the Hiring Manager (Occasionally onsite for some roles)

  • Background Check and MVR Review
  • Start your new career!

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree is a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical work
  • 1–3 years of experience in air balancing, environmental/airflow testing, industrial hygiene, EHS, mechanical/facilities work, or healthcare compliance — or a degree in a related field (recent graduates welcome).
  • Certifications such as NEEB, AABC, or air balancing accreditation are strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in healthcare environments is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Equivalent combinations of education, training, or hands-on experience are welcome. If you don’t check every box but are motivated, reliable, and ready to learn, we encourage you to apply—we’re looking for potential, not perfection.
