Overview
Responsible for material receipts, inventory management and shipments of product.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain an organized, accurate and secure inventory based on 5s principles while processing material transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Unloading miscellaneous pallets and packages as well as record products delivered and verify against delivery list and report all errors.
- Perform monthly physical inventory count and report information to appropriate departments.
- Transport various products and components to required work centers and transports completed manufacturing jobs to warehouse and document location for inventory accuracy.
- Define the best packing based on the parts involved, wrap the pallets, apply the shipping labels, load carriers and document and track shipping data.
- Complete, scan and process all import and export shipments.
- Communicate with various departments to ensure correct material is in stock and available for job orders.
- Accurately store inventory in a manner that eliminates the risk of damaging sensitive parts and components by assigning them a storage location, move to and document location and do stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Safely perform daily warehouse functions including order picking, receiving, stocking and packing of parts for shipment.
Experience
- Material handling and/or inventory cycle count experience in manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Forklift
- Basic computer skills
- Can lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and squatting to pick up items or load/unload products.
- Reaching overhead or across distances to grab items.
- Maneuvering equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
- Using ladders or step stools to access higher shelves.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms for picking, packing, or sorting items.
- Potential use of warehouse machinery such as forklifts or cranes, which may require training and certification.
- Visual acuity for reading labels, scanners, or displays, as well as ensuring safety.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to sustain physical effort for the duration of shifts, which can be long, especially during peak periods.
