Overview

Responsible for receiving incoming goods, preparing outbound freight, ensuring quality control processes are performed, managing inventory in an organized, optimal and efficient way as well as the transportation of materials and products in a safe manner using varying methods of product moving equipment including but not limited to forklifts, cranes and pallet jacks.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain an exceptionally organized, accurate and secure inventory based on 5S principles by processing material transactions in an online inventory management system with a high degree of accuracy and maintaining an accurate inventory with minimal variances by ensuring all material and components are stored in correct locations.
  • Accountable for stocking highly sensitive components in a manner that eliminates the risk of damaged parts.
  • Safely transports material and components in a timely manner to required work centers as well as completed manufacturing jobs to the warehouse using varying methods of transportation including but not limited to forklifts, cranes and pallet jacks.
  • Performs daily warehouse functions including order picking, receiving, stocking, packing of parts for shipment as well as properly maintaining all Work in Process (WIP) and setting up purchase requisitions for consumables.
  • Receiving and registering of incoming orders from suppliers or projects, checking and filing documentation related to incoming goods and integrating into inventory.
  • Accountable to prioritize the picking and receiving of incoming goods and internal material movement to address and meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Assists in monthly physical inventory counts and reports information to the appropriate department.
  • Assists in monthly physical inventory counts as well as periodic inventory checks to ensure correct material is in stock and available for job orders.
  • Assist in registering and completing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and quality records related to incoming goods.

Experience

  • 0-3 years of forklift operation.
  • 0-3 years of stand-up, reach forklift
  • 0-3 years of material handling in manufacturing environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or walking throughout the shift.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and squatting to pick up items or load/unload products.
  • Reaching overhead or across distances to grab items.
  • Maneuvering equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
  • Using ladders or step stools to access higher shelves.
  • Repetitive use of hands and arms for picking, packing, or sorting items.
  • Potential use of warehouse machinery such as forklifts or cranes, which may require training and certification.
  • Visual acuity for reading labels, scanners, or displays, as well as ensuring safety.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to sustain physical effort for the duration of shifts, which can be long, especially during peak periods.
