The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by building an underground network of tunnels. Today, we’re developing technology to increase tunneling speed and reduce costs by an order of magnitude—unlocking rapid, scalable transit in dense urban environments.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and scheduling, with hands-on experience in managing construction projects across various sites. The role will focus on coordinating project timelines, resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget in a fast paced environment.


Responsibilities


  • Manage all field construction activities related to scheduling, labor plans, and coordination with internal teams
  • Lead daily planning and execution of construction work while ensuring compliance with project schedules and milestones.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and field crews to optimize productivity and minimize delays.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
  • Conduct  site inspections and ensure proper documentation of construction activities.
  • Review and resolve field issues, RFIs, and constructability challenges with engineering and project leadership.
  • Support project reporting by providing updates on production, manpower, schedule, and project performance.


Minimum Qualifications


  • 5+ years of construction management experience on General Construction or heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience managing field operations involving excavation, structural concrete, earthwork, utilities, retaining structures, bridges, highways, underground construction or oil and gas.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field coordination.
  • Experience leading large construction crews and subcontractors in demanding project environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
  • Experience with underground construction, tunneling, shafts, cross passages, access ramps.
  • Background in Design-Build or large infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on complex heavy civil projects
  • OSHA 10 certification or equivalent safety training.
