Material Handler

About this role

This position is responsible for the shipment and/or receiving of supplies and finished product. The Material Handler receives, moves, stores and issues materials/supplies within the warehouse, loading dock and storage areas. Will monitor the flow of material in stock to the manufacturing area. May also be responsible for data entry and compiling stock records, as well as light truck driving duties with company vehicles.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications, and code product accordingly.
  • Store items according to identifying information as required.
  • Follow written work orders and/or verbal instructions for movement of material.
  • Maintain inventory records and related paperwork.
  • Operate carts, dollies, forklift, and other material handling equipment to move material within the warehouse and loading platform.
  • Use computer terminal as needed for basic data entry and retrieval of shipping/receiving transactions.
  • Participate in regular cycle counts.
  • Conduct all tasks in accordance with satisfactory safety practices.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • May be required to lead/train employees in adequate standards of work, as designated by management.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills required.
  • Ability to safely operate standard equipment and hand tools in all areas of assignment, as well as auxiliary equipment on trucks (e.g. power lifts).
  • Demonstrated adherence to scheduled work hours with punctuality and timeliness.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent processes.
  • Basic computer skills, including warehouse data entry systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with warehouse radio frequency scanners is preferred

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ months of warehouse experience; light truck driving duties preferred
  • Must pass Forklift certification test (including written and physical components)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Normal warehouse conditions
  • Able to climb, stoop, bend, carry, manually wrap and package golf-related products
  • Able to work in high places to stock and move product approximately 25 feet
  • Required to wear steel toe boots (will be provided after 90 days)
  • Able to work various shifts and/or extended hours as necessary
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • May be exposed to extreme temperature conditions
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
