Description

Maintenance Technician Level II is responsible for intermediate troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves performing routine maintenance checks and repairs addressing mechanical, electrical and controls issues and ensuring the reliability of the plastic extrusion equipment.

Requirements

 Roles And Responsibilities

· Inspect machinery for wear and tear and replace   parts as necessary.

· Lubricate and clean machine components to   prevent breakdowns.

· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on   plastic extrusion machines lines.

· Diagnoses and resolve mechanical and electrical   issues with extrusion machinery.

· Utilize equipment technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to solve equipment issues.

· Repair or replace faulty components, such as   motors, sensors, and control systems.

· Assist Sr Technicians with equipment rebuilds.

· Calibrate extrusion equipment to ensure   accurate and consistent operation.

· Adjust machine settings to maintain optimal   performance and product quality.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance   activities, repairs, and machine performance.

· Escalate urgent equipment repairs through the   proper channels.

· Document any corrective work identified via   work order in the CMMS system.

· Assist in developing and updating maintenance procedures.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Comply with company policies and procedures

· Provide guidance and training to Level I Maintenance Technicians

· Share knowledge and best practices to improve overall  team performance

· Effectively communicate with peers, production associates, and supervision and management.

· Complete scheduled work orders and projects as assigned.

· Perform other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills / Abilities /   Competencies

 

· Proficiency in troubleshooting of mechanical,  electrical, and hydraulic systems

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience working   with electrical systems and wiring (including 120/240)

· Troubleshoot and calibrate PLCs

· Must demonstrate a strong commitment to   workplace safety and hazard awareness.

· Ability to work collaboratively with other   technicians and production staff

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Solid understanding of computerized programs   (Internet, MS Suite, CMMS etc.)

· Must have a solid work history showing the   ability to maintain a good attendance record 

· Must own and be adept at using a set of   standard tools (Screwdriver, wrenches, socket set etc.) and precision measuring   devices. 

· Ability to pay close attention to detail and   follow procedures accurately

· Plastic extrusion knowledge and experience is a   plus

· English proficiency /fluency is preferred

· Spanish proficiency is a plus

 

Education and Experience for Level II Technician

 

· Must be legally authorized to work in US

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a   maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

 

Work Environment

 

· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

· Intermittent periods of working on a computer, crouching, kneeling, working in confined areas and in varied temperatures and outdoors   as necessary to safely service equipment.

· Ability to lift 25 - 50lbs

· Required to tolerate working environment with   temperatures more than 100 -105 degrees Fahrenheit during late spring and   summer months.
