About this role

We Go Beyond for A Safer World

At Tait Communications, our Summer Internships give students the opportunity to work on real projects, solve genuine engineering challenges, and contribute to products that help keep communities safe and connected.

Te Tūranga - The Role

Join Tait Communications this summer and contribute to the modernisation of our state-of-the-art RF automated test laboratory, which is used to measure and validate the performance of our advanced radio systems.

As part of this project, you'll investigate modern replacements for an obsolete third-party library that currently provides Digital Signal Processing (DSP) functionality and UI graphing components within our test automation platform. You'll then help redevelop the existing driver in .NET 8.0, enabling integration with the latest version of our test sequencer.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in software development, DSP-based measurement systems, UI data visualisation, and system integration while working on technology that supports the development of Tait's products.

Ō pūkenga - About You

This opportunity is ideal for a student with an interest in DSP based measurements, software development, and data visualisation.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about working in the field of digital signal processing (DSP) based measurements.

  • Has strong problem-solving skills and enjoys learning new technologies.

  • Has coding experience in a high-level programming language such as C# or Python.

  • Has some exposure to DSP concepts, data analysis, or measurement applications.

  • Enjoys investigating and evaluating different technical solutions.

  • Can think creatively and contribute innovative ideas to solve complex challenges.

  • Has strong communication skills and can work effectively as part of a team.

Ngā painga - What's in it for You?

If you are passionate about problem solving, able to work autonomously and as part of a team, and can take initiative and communicate effectively, then we want to hear from you! We have a variety of exciting projects for you to choose from, covering a range of engineering, service management and technological functions.
