FLEXOGRAPH PRESS OPERATOR
About this role
The Flexo-Graph/Digital Press Operator will provide quality service in label manufacturing by:
- Setting up and operating, label making equipment, to include printing press, digital press, die-cutting machines, and turret rewind machines.
- Maintains machinery in good working condition by performing routine and scheduled maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and make machinery adjustments.
- Set up impressions on press; mount printing plates to cylinders and set color labels. Set die-cutting pressures.
- Register two-color printing and die cuts.
- Order supplies; inks, dies and paper.
- Produce expected levels of throughput and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of 2 years printing operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Must have a keen eye for color.
- Must be able to use hand tools.
- Experience with operating and setting up machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Previous Flexo-Graph Press operation experience preferred.
- Good organizational skills are required.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with an ever-changing number of variables relating to the types of labels and folders involved.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly required to sit and/or stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to walk and is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
