This role is to be initially based on our Alliance Park project in Acton.  Sweet Projects are carrying out the following works situated in the city of London, the 1.95-hectare site previously contained Renault and Nissan showrooms, vehicle forecourts and maintenance areas, as well as internal waste oil storage facilities. For the first phase of the project, all buildings and structures, including the retaining wall, were demolished. 
 
To prepare for the construction of two new hyperscale data centres, along with an office building and substation, major utility diversions and disconnections were necessary. Ground remediation and site re-levelling.
 
The Senior Project Controls Engineer is responsible for leading reporting, analytics and project controls information management across assigned projects.
 
The role supports effective decision-making by providing accurate reporting, performance insight, data governance and continuous improvement of project controls systems, processes and reporting solutions. Experience required
 
  • Experience in project controls reporting, analytics or project performance environments
  • Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Experience managing project data, reporting structures and information quality
  • Experience working with ETL processes and data management principles
  • Knowledge of project controls, programme management and construction delivery processes
  • Experience working with Primavera P6, Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms desirable
  • Construction sector experience preferred

Qualifications
 
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Data Science or a related discipline
  • Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or data analytics qualifications desirable
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in reporting, analytics or project controls

  • Lead the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of project controls reporting
  • Ensure reporting outputs are issued accurately, consistently and in line with stakeholder requirements
  • Analyse project performance data and provide meaningful insight to support effective decision-making
  • Monitor reporting quality and identify opportunities for improvement

Data Management & Governance
  • Manage the extraction, transformation, validation and control of project data
  • Ensure reporting information is accurate, complete and aligned to project controls standards
  • Support development of effective data structures and reporting governance processes
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with project stakeholders

Digital Reporting & Automation
  • Develop, maintain and improve Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting activities and improve process efficiency
  • Support implementation of Power Platform, Fabric and other reporting technologies where appropriate
  • Promote data-driven decision making across project teams

Project Controls Support
  • Support Project Controls Leads in delivering project controls objectives
  • Assist integration of reporting, planning, cost, risk and performance information
  • Support implementation of project controls standards and business processes
  • Escalate issues affecting the quality or reliability of project information

Stakeholder Engagement & Training
  • Engage with project teams to understand reporting requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to users of project controls systems and reporting tools
  • Deliver training and support documentation where required
  • Build strong relationships across project, commercial and planning functions

Continuous Improvement
  • Promote best practice in reporting, analytics and project controls processes
  • Support development of business-wide reporting standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve project controls maturity and reporting capability

The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time as dictated by the changing needs of the Company. The post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate and as requested by his/her manager.
