This role is to be initially based on our Union Park project in Hayes.  As principal contractor we are constructing 18 Data Halls of approximately 1250m2 each, to be deployed at approximately 24MW of total useable IT power. Part of the development included the construction of an adjacent High Voltage Electrical Compound. This was linked to a Medium Voltage Energy Centre with dual backup power generation. The building mass consists of a series of staggered blocks, surrounded by an internal one-way circulation system with both soft and hard landscaping. 
 
The MV Energy Centres are located either side of North Hyde Gardens are smaller in scale providing a stepping down appearance towards the Grand Union Canal. The HV Energy Centre is located to the east of the MV Energy Centre to the side of North Hyde Gardens. A single storey Visitor Reception Centre enabling security protocols for visitors and employees is located near North Hyde Gardens.
 
The Package Manager is accountable for the safe, compliant, profitable and timely delivery of allocated project packages.
 
The role is responsible for achieving package objectives across programme, commercial performance, quality, stakeholder management and successful handover whilst ensuring compliance with project governance requirements and contractual obligations.

Qualifications
 
  • HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • CSCS Black Card.
  • SMSTS.
  • Professional membership desirable (CIOB, ICE, APM or equivalent).
  • Temporary Works knowledge desirable

Package Leadership
 

  • Lead delivery of allocated project packages

  • Ensure design information, procurement, resources and approvals are in place before works commence
  • Verify package readiness through structured reviews

Commercial & Financial Management
  • Manage package budgets, forecasts and cost performance
  • Support change control and commercial management activities
  • Monitor package risks, opportunities and financial performance
  • Ensure package delivery supports overall project profitability

Programme & Delivery Management
  • Own package delivery programmes and recovery plans
  • Monitor progress against milestones and contractual requirements
  • Escalate delivery risks, constraints and programme impacts
  • Ensure package resources remain aligned to programme objectives

Design & Technical Coordination
  • Coordinate package design development and technical interfaces
  • Ensure package information is available to support construction activities
  • Support resolution of technical and design issues
  • Promote buildability and value engineering opportunities

Quality & Compliance
  • Deliver compliant and defect-free works
  • Promote right-first-time delivery
  • Ensure package compliance with project standards, drawings and specifications
  • Manage package quality issues through to resolution

Quality Control
  • The role demands your positive input to achieving the specified requirements for the scope of works included within the contract and employer’s requirements
  • It is anticipated that you will undertake on-site compliance inspections of the works, record your findings, and should the works be non-compliant with the relevant control documents, to raise a Non-Conformance Report in accordance with the company management system
  • Any non-compliance identified is to be managed to a compliant completion of the works with the objective of successfully achieving a completed construction that is defect free at completion and handover

Stakeholder & Supply Chain Management
  • Lead package-level stakeholder engagement
  • Manage subcontractor performance and interfaces
  • Build effective working relationships with project teams, clients and delivery partners
  • Support effective communication across all package stakeholders

People & Leadership
  • Lead package teams and specialist subcontractors
  • Set expectations and monitor performance
  • Promote CORE values
  • Support development of junior personnel within the package team

The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time as dictated by the changing needs of the Company. The post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate and as requested by his/her manager.
