This role is to be initially based on our Union Park project in Hayes.  As principal contractor we are constructing 18 Data Halls of approximately 1250m2 each, to be deployed at approximately 24MW of total useable IT power. Part of the development included the construction of an adjacent High Voltage Electrical Compound. This was linked to a Medium Voltage Energy Centre with dual backup power generation. The building mass consists of a series of staggered blocks, surrounded by an internal one-way circulation system with both soft and hard landscaping.
 
The MV Energy Centres are located either side of North Hyde Gardens are smaller in scale providing a stepping down appearance towards the Grand Union Canal. The HV Energy Centre is located to the east of the MV Energy Centre to the side of North Hyde Gardens. A single storey Visitor Reception Centre enabling security protocols for visitors and employees is located near North Hyde Gardens.
 
The HSE Manager is responsible for supporting the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of construction activities.
 
The role provides expert health, safety and environmental support to project teams, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company standards and client expectations whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safe delivery. Site HSE Management
  • Support project teams in implementing HSE standards and procedures
  • Monitor compliance with legal, client and company requirements
  • Promote proactive and positive safety behaviours
 
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
  • Support planning and delivery of high-risk activities
  • Escalate safety concerns and ensure corrective actions are implemented
 
Inspection, Audit & Assurance
  • Conduct inspections, audits and observations
  • Monitor compliance and drive close-out of identified actions
  • Support project assurance activities and statutory inspections

Incident Management
  • Support investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses
  • Identify root causes and preventative actions
  • Track corrective actions through to closure
 
Training & Workforce Engagement
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and workforce briefings
  • Promote HSE awareness and behavioural improvement initiatives
  • Support subcontractors in meeting project safety expectations

The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time as dictated by the changing needs of the Company. The post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate and as requested by his/her manager.

The post holder may be required to work at any of the locations at which the business of Sweet Projects is conducted. Experience required
  • Experience supporting HSE delivery on construction projects
  • Experience monitoring high-risk construction activities
  • Experience undertaking inspections, audits and compliance reviews
  • Understanding of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Experience supporting incident investigations and corrective action programmes
  • MEP experience desirable
 
Qualifications
 
  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • IOSH Membership
  • Professionally Qualified Person CSCS Card
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
