Senior Loss Prevention Manager
About this role
sweetgreen is on a mission to build healthy communities by connecting people to real food. We passionately believe that real food should be convenient and accessible to everyone. Every day in each sweetgreen, our 5,000+ team members make food from scratch, using fresh ingredients and produce delivered that morning. And in our local communities, we're committed to leaving people better than we found them.
We're looking for a Senior Loss Prevention Manager to own loss prevention, physical security, and crisis and resiliency planning across sweetgreen's restaurants and support centers. Sitting on the Operations Services team and reporting to the Senior Director of Risk + Safety, you will lead our camera and investigations program, drive shrink and fraud reduction, manage physical security across our locations, and build the playbooks and response capability that keep our people, guests, and operations safe when things go wrong. This role is based onsite at our Los Angeles Support Center.
You will:
-
Own the loss prevention program end to end, driving strategy to reduce shrink, theft, and fraud, and managing the camera and video investigations platform, case work, and evidence retention.
-
Lead investigations into suspected internal and external theft, fraud, and policy violations, partnering with the People and Legal Teams on outcomes.
-
Set and maintain physical security standards across restaurants and support centers (access control, camera coverage, alarms), manage security vendors and guard services, and oversee incident response for events such as break-ins, theft, and workplace violence.
-
Build and maintain crisis response, business continuity, and resiliency plans, and serve as a lead responder during active crises, coordinating across Operations, Communications, People, and Legal.
-
Manage loss prevention, security, and investigations against service expectations and budget, and support the annual insurance renewal with loss and incident data.
-
Maintain incident data and reporting, produce trend dashboards for leadership, and ensure practices comply with federal, state, and local requirements across all jurisdictions.
Desired traits:
-
A calm, decisive presence during active incidents, with the judgment to lead a response while keeping the right people informed.
-
A prevention mindset, building the systems and training that stop incidents before they happen rather than only responding after the fact.
-
Strong analytical fluency, able to read loss, incident, and security data and turn it into recommendations leadership can act on.
-
Highly organized with strong follow-through, able to manage a broad, fast-moving portfolio and competing priorities.
-
A clear, credible communicator who works well with field operators, executives, vendors, and law enforcement.
-
Sound judgment about when to act within authority and when to escalate to Risk + Safety leadership.
Desired experience:
-
7+ years in loss prevention, physical security, or corporate security, ideally in multi-unit retail, restaurant, or hospitality.
-
Working knowledge of loss prevention investigations, camera and exception-based reporting systems, and physical security standards.
-
Experience managing security, investigations, or loss prevention vendors and guard services.
-
Experience with crisis management or business continuity planning is a plus.
-
Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional security and safety requirements.
-
Relevant certifications (CPP, PCI, CFI, or similar) are a plus.

- Three different medical plans to suit your and your family's needs
