Experience and qualifications for success

  • Permitted or permittable on SWCA’s Wyoming BLM permit. 
  • At least two years of relevant cultural resources experience. 
  • Experience with archaeological monitoring of construction sites. 
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a closely related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. 
  • Current valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a four-wheel drive vehicle on rugged backcountry roads. 
  • Ability to travel to a location; ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and often at high altitudes; and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. 
  • Ability to spend several hours per day away from the vehicle. 

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in monitoring in southwestern Wyoming. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervision abilities, including problem-solving, constructive conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.

An employee in this Sheridan, Wyoming-based position can expect a rate of: Assistant Project Resource Monitor -- $30.16/hour to $37.96/hour; Associate Project Resource Monitor -- $33.28/hour to $42.64/hour; Project Resource Monitor -- $37.44/hour to $47.84/hour. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.  Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
