Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport 3rd Year or Journeyperson

 

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Schedule: 10+ Hours per day, 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: 9175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB

Requirements:   

  • Full Complement of Hand Tools
  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Pre-employment:

  • Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
  • Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
  • Fitness to Work Assessment

 

 

Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport Qualifications:

  • Must be a 3rd year or Journeyperson HET – Truck and Transport (or 4th year HET)
  • Engine Rebuild and Performance Software Experience is Required
  • CVIP Certification is Beneficial
  • Power Train Experience is Beneficial
  • Experience with Electronics and Emissions is Beneficial
  • Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
  • Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

 

Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport Responsibilities:

  • Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
  • Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
