Mechanical & Electrical Manager (Facilities & Project Management)
About this role
Summary
Responsible for managing and overseeing the mechanical and electrical systems within the assigned building/facility, ensuring reliable operation, preventive maintenance, statutory compliance and effective delivery of M&E services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the operation and maintenance of M&E systems, including ACMV, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and other building services.
- Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and minimise breakdowns.
- Conduct regular inspections of M&E installations and identify potential operational, safety and maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with term contractors, service providers and consultants to ensure maintenance works are completed safely, timely and to the required standards.
- Troubleshoot M&E equipment and systems and coordinate rectification works where required.
- Monitor contractors' performance, work quality and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Ensure all statutory inspections, testing, certification and regulatory requirements are complied with.
- Review maintenance records, service reports and equipment performance, and recommend improvement measures where necessary.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in M&E / Facilities Management / Building Operations, preferably within commercial, industrial or institutional facilities.
- Strong knowledge of building M&E systems and maintenance practices.
- Good troubleshooting, coordination and contractor management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational priorities.
- Relevant professional certifications or statutory licences will be an advantage.
