Claims Officer

Join our Insurance team as a Claims Officer - Liability Claims.

This is a permanent full-time role open to applicants in Brisbane or Sydney.

Join Suncorp as a Claims Officer supporting our Liability Claims team, where you will manage a portfolio of commercial liability claims from lodgement through to finalisation.

This is a hands-on customer focused role where you will balance great service with sound decision making, ensuring claims are progressed fairly, accurately and in line with policy requirements. You'll work closely with customers, intermediaries and key stakeholders to deliver efficient, cost effective and timely claim outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Manage a portfolio of commercial liability claims from lodgement through to settlement

• Be the primary point of contact for customers and intermediaries, providing support and guidance throughout the claims process

• Assess claim information, review reports and make fair, informed decisions in line with policy requirements

• Work closely with customers, legal representatives and other stakeholders to progress claims and achieve positive outcomes

• Negotiate settlements and identify opportunities to deliver cost effective claim resolutions

• Resolve customer concerns, manage competing priorities and ensure claims are progressed efficiently

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to a high standard of compliance and customer service

What you’ll bring

• Experience in a customer service environment, ideally within insurance, financial services or a claims-related role

• Experience in a customer service, insurance, claims or case management environment

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders

• Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to make decisions and manage outcomes

• Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently and manage a varied workload

• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Experience in claims, liability, dispute resolution, negotiations or insurance will be highly regarded

• A customer-focused mindset and a genuine desire to help people through challenging situations
