Overview:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will have the opportunity to become a dedicated contributor to our oil sands mining operations by operating ultra class haul trucks in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. This role is essential to supporting site production goals while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience with operating equipment (haul trucks, wiggle wagon, dozers, graders, excavators) in industries such as mining, civil earthworks, pipelines, sawmills, pulp and paper mills or manufacturing, or highway construction

  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or Canadian Adult Educational Credential (CAEC) or 10+ years of work experience

  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Be a positive contributor to building safety culture

  • Complete walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments

  • Follow our operating standards and procedures

  • Operate various makes and models of haul trucks

  • Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately

  • Communicate updates to your supervisor to ensure that you meet all goals and objectives

Location and other Key details:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray

  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)

  • This is not a camp-based role

  • This position is safety sensitive

  • In your resume, please provide the type and size of the equipment you have operated and length of time of your employment with each company
