Suncor's BP&A team is seeking a Finance & Planning Advisor to support our Finance, Technology & Risk Function. In this role, you will provide valuable financial insights that support key business decisions across Finance Technology & Risk and other functional areas. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, month-end stewardship, business planning, and financial analysis activities while working closely with stakeholders across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving complex business problems, and turning analysis into meaningful insights. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong partnerships with both Finance and D&IT stakeholders across the organization.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in finance, planning, accounting, business analytics, or a related field

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools

  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, SAC-P, or similar systems is considered an asset

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • CPA designation (or progress toward designation) is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and month-end stewardship activities

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand key business drivers, risks, and opportunities

  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support business decision-making

  • Prepare financial reporting, analysis, and commentary to support performance reviews, forecasting, and planning activities

  • Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools to improve financial transparency and business insights

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, and drive continuous improvement

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support for strategic initiatives and stakeholder requests

Location and other Key Details:

  • This is an office-based role located in our Calgary office, Suncor Energy Centre, 150 - 6th Avenue S.W.

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday

  • Our professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
