Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation

  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting or finance experience

  • 2 years of oil and gas industry experience would be considered an asset

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Working knowledge of systems such as SAP

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of finance and accounting services and help drive continuous improvement

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a range of accounting assignments, including more complex projects

  • Resolve accounting issues independently and use sound judgment to set priorities and meet deadlines

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement practical solutions

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior team members

  • Review work and act as a trusted resource on accounting-related matters

  • Collaborate with colleagues and senior specialists to address complex issues

  • Provide analysis, insights, and recommendations to support business decisions

Location and other Key details:

  • The position will be based at the Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Center at 150 – 6th Ave S.W

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
