About the role

Job Summary
A winder disassembles, repairs, rewinds, and reassembles electric motors, and generators. Tasks can be carried out after basic training or demonstration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Rewinding electric motors
  • Ability to operate a core loss tester, hipotential test, surge test and megger test equipment as well as both AC and DC test panels.
  • Possess ability to tig armature connections and silfos brazed connections.
  • Manufacture and install random wound coils, install and align formed coils and install coils in form wound armature.
  • Capable to perform proper insulation systems to ensure quality rewinding practices.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including understanding fractions
  • Must have the initiative and enterprise to quickly master the processes and procedures of the job and to complete tasks with or without supervision

  • Entry level skills
  • On the job training
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to use basic tools
  • Experienced winder is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
