About the role
The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting the sales process by providing technical expertise, assisting with product demonstrations, and preparing proposals. This role works closely with senior engineers and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met.Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales of all Sulzer services (repairs and maintenance of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, electric motors) as well as distribution of spare parts and retrofits for our own products as well as for third-party product.
2. Acquisition of new customers as well as maintenance and expansion of existing customer contacts in the sales area
3. Technical elaboration and calculation of offers as well as negotiation up to the conclusion of the contract (supported by our internal sales force and our technical experts)
4. Ensure targeted monitoring, tracking and forecasting of open offers
5. Developing the mid and long term sales plan and supporting the establishment of both annual and monthly sales budgets and objectives
6. Responsibility for execution of the specific objectives of the Sales Plan with regards to opportunity identification through to contract award
7. Attend and carry out client visits, seminars and presentations
8. Liaising with relevant departments of the company and, most specifically with operations team to develop the bidding strategy for each project
9. Establishment of both market and target customer strategies for the Company.
10. Ensure that effective client contact, relationship building and management processes are in place (including acting on feedback from Customer Satisfaction Surveys) to positively influence the client and create a pre-disposition to view Sulzer as the preferred service provider
11. Maintain knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors and leading customer strategies, especially in relation to international business
12. Ensure application of Sulzer sales and commercial policies, procedures, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines
13. Review tenders and support overall tender process
14. Ensure that handover meetings and documentation are effective and result in a smooth transition from pre to post order status
15. Ensuring that Sulzer sales forecast and prospect lists are provided to schedule
16. Observe and analyze market, competition and trends
17. Conducting service presentations and participating in trade fair
Skills & Qualifications:
Typically a University degree (or equivalent work experience) and up to 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent skills) are minimally required to carry out the role.
Strong interest in technology and sales.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
Team player with a proactive mindset.
