About the role

Job Summary
Responsible for the successful execution, governance, commercial performance, and delivery of multiple projects within the organization.
The role provides leadership to Project Coordinators, Engineers and Project Managers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations and customer expectations.
The incumbent acts as the primary escalation point for project-related matters, drives project readiness for Steering Committee reviews, manages commercial risks including Liquidated Damages (LDs), claims, and change orders, and ensures effective project close-out and lessons learned implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and supervise a team of Project Engineers and Project Managers.

  • Establish project execution strategies, priorities, and performance targets.

  • Allocate resources and balance workloads across the project portfolio.

  • Conduct performance reviews, development planning, and succession planning for project personnel.

  • Serve as the first level of escalation for project-related issues.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

Project Delivery Management

  • Oversee the execution of multiple EPC, Energy, Infrastructure, or Industrial projects.

  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved schedule, budget, quality, and HSE requirements.

  • Monitor project KPIs, progress, risks, and resource utilization.

  • Conduct weekly project reviews and monthly portfolio reviews.

  • Ensure project plans, schedules, recovery plans, and execution strategies remain current and achievable.

  • Drive proactive identification and mitigation of project risks.

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Lead the management of contractual obligations and commercial exposures.

  • Review and address Liquidated Damages (LDs) risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Manage contract change orders, variation requests, extension of time (EOT) claims, and commercial negotiations.

  • Support dispute avoidance and resolution activities.

  • Ensure contractual compliance with customers, partners, and suppliers.

  • Participate in commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors when required.

  • Coordinate with Legal and Finance departments regarding contractual matters.

Project Governance & Steering Committee Readiness

  • Establish governance processes across all projects.

  • Ensure project readiness for Steering Committee and Executive Management reviews.

  • Validate project dashboards, forecasts, risk registers, commercial updates, and mitigation plans before presentation.

  • Present project performance, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to senior management.

  • Ensure management decisions are effectively implemented and tracked.

Project Close-Out & Lessons Learned

  • Lead formal project close-out activities.

  • Ensure completion of punch lists, final documentation, and handover requirements.

  • Oversee final account settlements and commercial closure.

  • Capture and institutionalize lessons learned and best practices.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the senior interface between customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.

  • Coordinate activities among Engineering, Procurement, Production, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, and Finance.

  • Ensure customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.

  • Drive customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive implementation of project management standards and best practices.

  • Monitor project KPIs and portfolio metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and requirements.

  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to improve project performance.

  • Support digitalization and PM reporting initiatives.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.

  • Master's degree in engineering or project management is preferred; MBA is considered an advantage.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.

  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience within EPC, Energy, Water, Infrastructure, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas sectors.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects and contracts.

  • Experience leading and developing Project Engineers and Project Managers is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of project lifecycle management, including project execution, close-out, and commercial settlement activities.

  • Experience presenting project performance, risks, and strategic updates to Executive Leadership and Steering Committees.

  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team coordination capabilities.

  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are mandatory.

  • Ability to effectively manage customers, suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional project teams.
