Studio Director

Amsterdam, North Holland, The Netherlands · On-site

About this role

As Studio Director, you will lead the end-to-end operation of Suitsupply's photo studio, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality visual assets across every customer touchpoint. You will drive operational excellence through process optimization, resource planning, and technology enablement, partnering closely with Creative, Brand, Merchandising, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Production teams. This role calls for a strong operational mindset, balancing quality, speed, cost, and capacity while identifying opportunities to simplify processes and increase productivity. You will own the studio's technology roadmap, including AI-driven solutions, and lead a cross-functional network of photographers, stylists, retouchers, and producers. Your leadership will directly shape the scalability, efficiency, and creative output of one of Suitsupply's core content production functions.
What You Will Do
  • Lead day-to-day studio operations — managing capacity, resource allocation, schedules, and workload planning — and ensure output is delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate photographers, stylists, retouchers, and producers, and establish KPIs and reporting to track throughput, turnaround, utilization, and quality.
  • Own and continuously improve end-to-end studio workflows, using production data and bottleneck analysis to eliminate inefficiencies and drive scalable ways of working.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize technologies for production planning, asset management, and workflow automation, leveraging AI to accelerate content production and improve quality control.
  • Build business cases for technology investments and drive adoption across the studio team, partnering with Technology and Digital teams.
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for studio matters across Creative, Brand, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, E-commerce, and Production teams.
  • Manage external partners — retouching, production, equipment, and technology vendors — negotiating contracts and rates to ensure cost-effective, high-quality service.
  • Own the studio operating budget across external retouching, tooling, technology, equipment, and resources, monitoring productivity, utilization, and costs to optimize spend.
  • Support strategic planning and future studio capability development.
Who You Are
  • 10+ years in studio operations, content production, or related operational leadership, with proven experience managing high-volume production in fashion, retail, e-commerce, or a comparable industry.
  • Strong operational and analytical mindset, using data and metrics to improve workflows, simplify processes, and drive efficiency.
  • Experience implementing new technologies, workflow management systems, and AI-enabled solutions; hands-on with platforms such as Creative Force, Photoshop, and Figma.
  • Strong project, stakeholder, and resource management skills across competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Commercially minded, with experience managing budgets, vendors, and operational performance.
  • Self-directed, pragmatic, and solution-oriented, with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Photography, Creative Production, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
What You Will Get
  • Autonomy: We empower you to take ownership, make meaningful decisions, and drive impact without layers of sign-off.

Overview

Founded in Europe in 2000, Suitsupply has grown to over 100 international stores in cities such as Milan, London, Amsterdam, Zurich, Munich, New York, Toronto, Dubai, Shanghai and Hong Kong. In addition to our ever-expanding number of brick-and-mortar locations, we maintain a strong online presence, allowing Suitsupply to bring our style and top-tier service to all corners of the globe.

In an industry where fast fashion dominates and craftsmanship is fast disappearing, Suitsupply introduces a better option: one where no attention to detail or quality is ever spared. That’s why we use only the finest Italian fabrics sourced from mills such as Ferla, E. Thomas and Vitale Barberis Canonico.

We have received widespread accolades from the likes of The New York Times, GQ, Esquire, and, perhaps most notably, a Wall Street Journal blind test that rated a $600 Suitsupply suit in a first-place tie with a $3,600 Armani.

While high-quality suiting at an affordable price point remains at the core of all that we do, our versatile range includes a wide range of knitwear, jackets, trousers, outerwear, shoes.

At Suitsupply, we pride ourselves in taking innovative approaches to traditional problems. This has led to the development of technologies such as our size passport, and a commitment to in-house tailoring, providing quick alterations while you wait for a perfect fit every time. Each and every Style Advisor receives in-depth training through our acclaimed Suit School, bringing the unmatched level of passion and expertise that make Suitsupply’s customer service stand out.

The message is clear. We believe that nobody should leave Suitsupply with anything less than a perfect fit. If you’re equally devoted to quality, check out our jobs page for opportunities to join us.
