Objective of the position

At Stoneridge, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work closely with Product Development and Operations teams to support products already in mass production. As part of our Series Engineering team, you will play a key role in implementing product improvements, managing engineering changes, and ensuring the continued performance, quality, and manufacturability of our products.

Characterization of activities

  • Provide design support for existing products by implementing design improvements, supporting production in the investigation of quality issues, and carrying out design modifications and verification activities.
  • Utilize Siemens NX, CAD, and Teamcenter PLM tools to create, manage, and maintain product designs and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams, automotive suppliers, and customers to ensure successful implementation of engineering changes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies, engineering tools, and development processes.
  • Expand your technical expertise through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and hands-on learning from experienced colleagues.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • Higher technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design, with hands-on expertise in product development, testing, and design validation.
  • Knowledge of prototyping processes, material procurement, and engineering change management practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with familiarity with methodologies such as 8D, A3, Lean, or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of plastics (injection molding) and metal components, combined with good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
