About this role

About Stepful:

Stepful is a workforce platform redefining how America's largest health systems build, train, and retain their talent. Since our founding in 2021, Stepful’s trained over 32,000 practice-ready healthcare workers.

Layering onto our successful direct-to-consumer training, Stepful partners with leading healthcare institutions to address the growing national shortage of healthcare workers. We’re improving access to quality healthcare for everyone, everywhere, and improving access to healthcare career ladders for those who need them most.

Our students form the talent pipelines for major employers such as NY-Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai, HCA, Providence, CVS, and Walgreens. We have partnerships with half of the top 10 health systems in the US and are in process with many more.

Stepful is backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital, and AlleyCorp, with a recent $55M Series C led by Oak HC/FT. We were named the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. by TIME for 2025.

Our values:

We credit much of our success to our exceptional team. We’re looking for mission-driven builders who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and embody our four core values:

  • Care first: We do whatever it takes for our students to succeed.

  • Learn quickly: We test, learn with data, and iterate.

  • Build together: We win when we rely on each other.

  • Own it: We show up, take initiative, and show pride.

The opportunity:

Stepful is scaling paid acquisition and the creative behind those campaigns is one of our biggest growth levers. We're looking for a Senior Graphic & Motion Designer to own the visual production engine behind our paid social program, building the static and animated ads that drive signup, while helping bring a consistent brand identity to every channel we show up on, paid and organic alike.

You'll spend most of your time in paid social, but you'll also flex into broader marketing design works such as emails, and creative for emerging channels as they open up. Success looks like a steady cadence of high-performing creative, a testing roadmap that keeps improving what we know works, and creative agencies that consistently ship on-brand, on-strategy work because you've given them clear guardrails and fast feedback.

This is a hybrid role based out of our NYC office, reporting to our VP of Growth Marketing.

What you'll do:

  • Design static and animated ads for paid social, from concept through final delivery

  • Build and run a content testing roadmap for paid social creative, turning results into a clear point of view on what to make next

  • Develop creative for emerging channels as they open up, including static formats for placements like ChatGPT and out-of-home

  • Help develop brand guidelines and share them with our creative agencies so every partner is producing on-brand work

  • Help bring a consistent visual and messaging identity across paid and organic growth channels

  • Work closely with our creative agencies to review asset production, give feedback, and ensure guidelines are properly implemented

  • Support design for marketing projects beyond paid social, including emails for our lead-to-purchase flow

  • Actively experiment with AI tools to speed up creative workflows and production

  • Stay current on emerging design technology and AI-driven trends, bringing new ideas back to how the team works

  • Help lead brainstorms that bring fresh design thinking and a clear read on technical feasibility to the team

What you'll bring:

  • 3-5 years of professional design experience in an agency or in-house team, ideally supporting startups with fast-changing priorities

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma

  • Demonstrated experience using generative AI tools and AI-driven workflows to improve efficiency for both static and motion design

  • Strong understanding of digital production, asset optimization, and scaling creative

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a track record of collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams at pace

Bonus points if:

  • You've worked in EdTech or healthcare marketing

  • You've managed or given feedback to external creative agencies

  • You've built or contributed to a brand system used across multiple teams or agencies

Interview Process:

  • Introductory call with Talent Acquisition team member

  • Interview with Hiring Manager

  • Take-Home Assignment

  • Virtual Panel Interview

  • On-Site Panel Interview

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Meaningful Equity Stake

  • Subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plan options

  • 401(k)

  • FSA, HSA and commuter benefits

  • Open vacation policy, including:

    • Guidance of 15 days PTO annually

    • Stepful closed the last week of December

    • 15 work-from-anywhere days

    • 10 public holidays observed for 2025

The target base salary range for this opportunity is $100,000 - $120,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including performance-based bonus, equity and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
