Material Handling Supervisor (Material Area Supervisor)
About this role
Strategic Goal: Deliver consistent and safe material delivery performance to production lines, enabling maximum throughput and operational efficiency.
- Supervise hourly material handling employees to support production.
- Manage line-side inventory replenishment and equipment operation.
- Report on area safety, quality, and throughput.
- Partner with union leadership on workforce issues.
- Enforce PIV safety and preventive maintenance standards.
- Drive Lean/SIS implementation and staff performance.
- EDUCATION:
- Minimum: Engineer degree (Industrial / Logistics/ Supply Chain)
- Preferred: Experience (1–2+ years) in warehouse/plant logistics
- Bonus: Certifications (forklift, safety, supply chain)
- LANGUAGES – English 60% (Intermediate +)
- SKILLS: solid grasp of how materials flow through a plant
- Operational Skills (Logistics areas optimization /FIFO /Inventory management, delivery methods, safety regulation, KPI improvements)
- Continuous improvement (Lean principles, Kaizen, 5S/5T, problem solving & decision-making)
- Safety principles
- Leadership & Team management (communication, coaching, discipline, Supervising forklift operators, handlers, and warehouse staff)
